JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for overseeing the training and administrative duties related to drivers. Ensure that drivers are well-trained, compliant with industry regulations, and equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties effectively and safely. Additionally responsible for maintaining driver records, assisting with scheduling, and supporting other administrative tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Driver Training:

o Conduct orientation sessions to ensure drivers are familiar with company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.

o Provide ongoing training and refresher courses to keep drivers updated on standards, regulations, and company expectations.

· Administrative Support:

• Maintain accurate driver reconciliation lists and assist with relevant administrative tasks.
• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with state and local transportation regulations, including vehicle inspection requirements.
• Each vehicle must have a designated driver assigned. Allocation of drivers should consider years of service and fleet numbers.
• PDP’s must be renewed at least 90 days before the expiry date.
• Vehicles fitted with cross-border permits must be driven by drivers in possession of a valid passport and a valid PDP.
• The Johannesburg (JHB) branch must always have a spare driver available on a daily basis. In addition, at least two on-site shunters must be available at HST JHB every weekend, starting from Friday afternoons at 3:00 PM.
• PDP’s tags and driver wage tags must be placed and recorded correctly.
• Drivers’ problems and requests must be submitted in writing on the board to the Fleet Controller. This ensures that matters such as medicals, sector appointments, renewal of driver licenses, and leave (including special events such as weddings) are scheduled properly. Drivers must also complete a full vehicle inspection during the required four-week training period.

· Driver Compliance & Safety:

o Conduct inspections, ensuring drivers adhere to all safety standards and protocols.

o Assist in managing driver discipline processes when necessary, in coordination with HR and management.

· Communication and Coordination:

o Act as a liaison between drivers, fleet controllers, and management to ensure smooth operations.

o Address driver concerns, questions, or issues promptly and professionally.

· Reporting and Documentation:

o Assist with accurate and up-to-date documentation related to driver qualifications, safety records, and training materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

o Matric Certificate (Grade 12)

o Previous experience in a transportation or logistics company, particularly in driver training or coordination (advantage).

o Valid Code 14 license (advantage).

Job Purpose:
The Diesel Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating the fuel needs of the depot's fleet of trucks, aiming to ensure optimal fuel consumption and cost-effective usage. This role involves monitoring fuel levels, coordinating refueling activities and ensuring accurate fuel data reporting. The Diesel Planner works closely with drivers, workshop staff, and management to ensure continuous fuel availability and compliance with fuel management policies and regulations.

JOB PURPOSE:

The main purpose of the job is to carry out auto electrical repairs and maintenance within OEM requirements and specifications for commercial vehicles which includes truck tractors, trailers, tankers as well as auxiliary equipment.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

• Carry out diagnostics on electrical faults reported.
• Inspection of electrical systems.
• Re-wiring of electrical systems with regards to refurbishment requirements.
• Construction of electrical looms as and when required.
• To complete/oversee the repairs on any electrical defects found.
• Complete complaint, cause and correction on job cards for sign off (individual and supervisor/foreman).
• Complete all relevant administrative requirements, including, but not limited to service sheets, stores requisitions, technical data sheets etc.
• Use and understand diagnostic equipment.
• Choose alternative ways of carrying out tasks (innovation).
• Operate electrical and mechanical equipment pertaining to the job, i.e. power tools.
• Ensure integrity of all related tools of the trade.
• Carry out soldering and machining.
• Work according to occupational health and safety requirements.
• Supervision of employees, where applicable (incl. general worker, artisan assistant, semi-skilled worker and apprentice).
• Helping where needed and carrying out any reasonable requests.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• In-dept knowledge of diagnostic equipment
• Advanced electrical knowledge
• Basic knowledge of engines, transmissions and drive lines
• Understanding of technical data specifications and schematics
• Demonstrates a technical aptitude and ability

Experience

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a heavy-duty transport / commercial vehicle workshop.

Qualifications

• Trade tested auto electrician

• Certificate of fitness (COF)
• Clear criminal record
• Valid Code EC (14) license with PrDP would be advantageous

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible to supervise, and managing transporting of cargo for clients, which include, the management of drivers as well as timeously communicating with clients, driver etc. during the night shift working from 18h00 till 07h00.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to monitor and manage driver movement during shift Reporting and record keeping of all incidents and accidents that have been reported. Communication with drivers, and ensuring drivers keep to schedule as prescribed by Fleet Controllers and Fleet Schedulers Proper communication with clients if needed. Ensuring that drivers are on the correct routes as planned by Fleet Controllers and Fleet Schedulers. Any other tasks as required by Management and or Supervisory Personnel.

Interns will work closely with our experienced operations team to support daily logistical and operational tasks, manage real-time challenges, and contribute to the smooth running of transport activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS:

• Assist in daily coordination and dispatching of transport operations, ensuring timely departures and arrivals of trucks.
• Monitor transport schedules, routes, and traffic patterns to optimize delivery times and minimize delays.
• Support the tracking and documentation of cargo and equipment movement, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Communicate with drivers to relay information regarding route adjustments, load requirements, or safety protocols.
• Aid in managing the 24/7 shift scheduling of drivers, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with safety regulations.
• Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and resource utilization.
• Conduct initial issue resolution for any operational or logistical challenges that may arise.
• Work alongside the operations management team to support and develop emergency protocols and response plans.

JOB PURPOSE:

To efficiently collect, process, and manage driver debriefing information, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Record empty pallet controll, diesel slips, and paperwork daily.

* Update spreadsheets for accurate data entry.

* Capturing data on key fleet

* Updating load sheet with and sending loading progress

* Tyre Stock take / Ordering Tyres

* Compiling List of stationary that needs to be ordered

* Keep track of outstanding Loads on Key fleet

* Keep track of pallet book and make sure correct number of pallets were

* Assist with loading of trucks, and communication with clients about departure and arrival of trucks.

* Keep track of loads and arrange accordingly.

Post Management:

* Ensure accurate data entry and updates.

Driver Debriefing:

* Conduct debriefing sessions, ensuring all documents meet client requirements.

* Issue new POD books and trip sheets as needed.

* Monitor debriefing spreadsheets for drivers’ needs.

Communication & Support:

* Provide guidance and support to drivers regarding paperwork.

* Assist with inquiries between customer and BFN controllers

* Assits with customer complains

Compliance & Reporting:

* Ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations.

* Generate Loading reports for management review.
